Summary:

This is a popular tokoroten seaweed noodle powder. You can cook a different variety of noodle. Like kanten agar, 75% is dietary fiber and cooking procedure is same as agar powder. The main difference between tentsuru noodle and tokoroten noodle is texture. Tokoroten noodle is softer and smoother and mainly used for desert and cold meals. If you would like to add noodle in hot soup, then please use tentsuru noodle or string agar.

How to use:

  1. Prepare 500ml of water in a small sauce pan and add 4g of tokoroten powder (1 sachet).
  2. Heat the pan till water boils. Do not forget to stir occasionally.
  3. Once water starts to boil, keep boiling another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stop heating and pour the fluid into container. Recommended to use nagashibune (tokoroten making container)
  5. Refrigerate few hours till tokoroten coagulates.
  6. Cut the tokoroten into noodle shape. Recommended to use tentsuki (tokoroten noodle machine for this).

Note: This is the basic recipe of how to cook tokoroten noodle without adding anything. Cooking procedure is pretty similar to powder agar recipe. For beginners, it is recommended to try this first to make sure tokoroten do coagulates as instructed.
