Summary:

Bar kanten (agar) is traditional type of agar. Some people prefer this old style to modern type.

How to use: Basic

  1. Wash bar agar (8g) and soak them into water for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare 500ml of water in a small sauce pan and add bar agar (8g).
  3. Heat the pan till water boils. Do not forget to stir occasionally.
  4. Once water starts to boil, keep boiling another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stop heating and pour the fluid into container.
  6. Refrigerate few hours till the fluid coagulates.

Note 1: This is the basic recipe of how to cook jelly without adding anything. There are many ways to cook depending on recipes. For beginners, it is recommended to try this first to make sure kanten do coagulates as instructed.
